Stuff like keyboards, mixers, headphones - things you can physically manipulate. These are synths and stuff built into Reason, as Reason doesn't do VSTs.
These are sound packs and settings for the Reason sequencer. Not all of the VSTs the artists use are listed - just their favourites. These are little programs that you load into Sequencers - they create all sorts of sounds and effects. Most of them do NOT have sequencing functions. These programs were made do all sorts of crazy things with sound clips - chop them up, rearrange them, control the volume, things like that. Most of them have audio editing functions as well! You can create songs with VSTs using a Sequencer.
